Welcome to Chloe Harris' Blog

"Chloe Harris" really is the pseudonym for two writers, Noelle and Barbra, who've joined forces to write intriguing and sexy stories. A quintessential eccentric southerner, Noelle seems to find a story in almost everything. Ever ambitious to change her stars, she has a degree in Communications. Barbra lives together with her cat ('Princess Mimi'), who isn't very happy that she is spending so much time on writing. But this folly of the living can opener with opposable thumbs is mostly tolerated.

The Wheel

by Barbra

On Monday a friend of mine learned that her best friend (they went to kindergarten and school together) died. He fell off a ladder and broke his neck. He was only 34 years old.
I tried to comfort her as much as I could. I know there’s nothing I can do or say to make her feel better. But I can send positive vibes your way. Whether you believe in good thoughts making a difference or not, could you maybe spare a few seconds on thinking of her and thereby sending some positive vibes her way? Thank you very much. That’s very kind of you. I’d return the favor in kind. Just let me know where to send my positive thoughts and when.

We all know some days are harder than others, especially now when winter comes and depression lurks around every gloomy corner. Just as the seasons change, so does luck. Once we're on top of the wheel of fortune we fall down. Eventually though, we get back up again. Just like in the Tarot card.

Or, to be less occult and more poetical, here's something from Robert Frost:

In A Glass of Cider

It seemed I was a mite of sediment
That waited for the bottom to ferment
So I could catch a bubble in ascent.
I rode up on one till the bubble burst,
And when that left me to sink back reversed
I was no worse off than I was at first.
I'd catch another bubble if I waited.
The thing was to get now and then elated.
